PT STAR COSMOS was founded in 1976 by Mr. Ir. Alam Surjaputra. Cosmos word comes from ancient Greek, cosmos, which means life in the universe. The mission at that time was as an alternative to the products – household products from Japan
In 1976, our company established the first factory Tangerang area, which operate to produce and assemble: electric fan, rice storage facilities, juicer, blender and toaster. We do transfer Technologi with Goldstar (now LG) in terms of technical collaboration in 1991 to further improve the quality and the system we work in producing goods brand Cosmos.
In 1996 we managed to obtain recognition of SNI (Indonesian National Standard) for the products of Rice Storage Facility. From this SNI, all rice storage facilities available in Indonesia are required to refer to the standards that Cosmos has been set
Similarly, in 2003 we got the Gold Award from Indonesia Good Design for the products of Rice Storage Facility (Bio Cosmos). This award is given by Indonesia Good Design Selections in cooperation with the Ministry of Trade and Peridustrian and immediately signed by the minister for industry and trade. In 2004 we returned to get Gold Award from Indonesia Good Design as well as two awards for product category Juicer 366 for electric home appliances and Waranca for non-electric.
Later in 2005 we were the first fan manufacturer in Indonesia who managed to get Safety Certificates Indonesia (SNI). This certificate is a recognition of the Government of Indonesia will be the pick the Cosmos product quality standards and high safety standards.
